Our attitudes to risks are changing. If something goes wrong, surely someone, somewhere must be to blame. Human error has always been at the forefront of risk in public assessment. But are there other risks associated with the processing of tests and examinations? And who is running what sort of risk? Are the risks for learners different to the risks for governments? Can we, should we and how do we reduce risk?

2012 International Computer Assisted Assessment (CAA) Conference

The 2012 International CAA Conference is a two day research-led conference hosted by the University of Southampton and organised by ECS and the IET at the Open University. The Conference aims to advance the understanding and application of information technology to the assessment process (e-assessment) through rigorous peer-reviewed research. As in previous years, the conference will be of particular interest to those involved in the pedagogic and technical aspects of e-assessment and those involved in strategy, policy and implementation, such as managers and support services.
