Alison Wood

Alison joined AQA’s Centre for Education Research and Practice in September 2010. She is responsible for the interface between research and policy-making. Previously, Alison was Head of Standards in Assessment at QCDA, working on national curriculum tests and the development of new approaches to national assessment, such as sampling and single-level tests. Before joining the National Curriculum Testing team, Alison was a senior researcher in the Regulation and Standards Division. While in this role, she gained her MRes in Educational Research. Alison’s background is in teaching from key stage 2 through to A-level. She was, for many years, a senior examiner and authored textbooks and other educational materials. Alison gained her PGCE in Economics and Business Studies at the University of London Institute of Education and her first degree, in Philosophy, from the University of Liverpool.
