Debra Malpass

Senior Research Associate

Debra joined CERP in June 2010. She has a BSc and a PhD in Psychology, both from the University of Birmingham. Debra’s research focused on understanding the motivational and learning factors associated with successful educational and employment outcomes for vocational learners. Before joining CERP Debra was involved in psychopharmacological research, and has published several articles in scientific journals and a book about the effects of cigarette smoking on depressive symptoms. Debra was also employed as a cognitive scientist at the University of Birmingham, and was involved in interdisciplinary research in the field of psycholinguistics with the Department of Linguistics at Oxford University.

In 2014 Debra became Head of Technical and Vocational Qualifications Standards and Research at AQA.
